Sometimes a quick gig goes different than you think it will. These guys didn’t have time or budget for a full animated logo design — they initially just asked me if I could “fix” something a previous animator had done. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn’t really work that way. The inherited After Effects project just didn’t have the proper source to do much for them, and certainly not what was ideal. I spent way too much of our limited schedule trying to finesse the mostly unfinesse-able. In the end, this left me precious little time to do something “from scratch,” which is probably where we should have started.
Luckily, they were happy with even a less-than-ideal rushed schedule on the redo, and scrapped the original entirely for this re-design. The logo itself, in the final position, pre-existed. But how it all comes together is far closer to what they’d originally envisioned than the version they initially brought me.
Another happy client, and a pretty cool looking animation/logo. Thanks to producer Tyson Culver at C2C Media, for being his usual rockstar self.
