We shot this sweet commercial in late spring, while the bluebonnets were just peeking out. I had seen the uber-talented Katie Folger and Devin Bonnée in Emily Hagins’ Grow Up Tony Phillips a month before at SXSW and was willing to use any excuse to work with them. Of course they were perfect for this.
We shot multiple setups at six completely different locations in less than twelve hours. A long, fast day, but tons of remarkable footage and somehow a pleasant and pleasurable day. (Of course lounging on a picnic blankets with puppies and watching a beautiful sunset at the Oasis can take the “work” out of even the most grueling shoot.)
This is the “extended” cut, but we’ve also diced this story into 3 separate :30s, Maxwell House-style, and another type-designed cut we call “Counting.” They are being licensed through Trillion Media to jewelry stores across the country.
Co-directed by Zane Rutledge and Jeff Stolhand, with camera support from Tom Hennig, and makeup/hair by Holly Barrera.
