Back in the fall of 2013 I had the pleasure of working on Crackle’s hit show CHOSEN, producing a fairly large number of visual effects for Ben Ketai’s action-packed television/web show, starring Milo Ventimiglia and Chad Michael Murray. This is one of my favorite sequences for Season 2. All muzzle flashes, sparks, ejected shells, and blood (with the exception of one close-up squib shot) are digital, produced by ZaneFX.
This is a random spattering of multiple things I’ve done in recent times. Some FX, some direction, some cinematography, some compositing. I wear a lot of hats, and this is just a flurry of them randomly jumbled together.
Last year ZaneFX did some visual effects for Kyle Rankin’s post-apocalyptic Nuclear Family. The film is finally out as a downloadable series on SyFy.com. In addition to some digital pyro and some nuclear mushroom cloud animations (soon!), we also pulled off some low-budget/ super-fast-schedule matte paintings of the sci-fi/end-of-the-world variety.
